Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo
The GranTurismo MC Trofeo is an evolution of the GranTurismo MC Concept, the prototype car developed from the road-going model, the successful GranTurismo S.
The modifications applied by the designers of the Maserati Design Centre to the road-going model, to develop the race version, have improved the aerodynamic performance without affecting the elegant and sinuous shape.
The Maserati Corse technicians have worked to reduce drastically the weight, improving the dynamic performance by means of specific racing type components, while keeping the reliability of the original design for the engine, gearbox and transmission assembly.
The GranTurismo MC Trofeo's set up is tuned for the track use, keeping the optimal weight balance of the road-going car.
The car is fitted with single-rate racing dampeners dampers and aluminium "Flow-Forming" wheels, 11"x18" front - 13"x18 rear, fitting slick/rain tires with sizes 305/660/18 on the front and 325/705/18 on the rear.
The braking system features new monobloc callipers and racing-type steel discs and pads, without ABS.
The 2011 version of the GranTurismo MC Trofeo benefits of all engine/gearbox software optimization tested on track during the 2010 season. More technical updates have been applied in order to further boost the overall performance.
